Tasting Notes

This is reduced to the point that the nose cannot be read with any accuracy. Like the Narvaux this is quite generous, and generous proportioned, with textured and impressively intense middle weight flavors that are borderline lush on the mid-palate yet tighten up immediately on the detailed, vibrant and citrusy finish. The supporting acidity is sufficiently firm and the underlying material sufficiently concentrated to suggest that this will require the better part of a decade to arrive at its full apogee.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (51), June 2013

(from 40-year-old vines in between Lafon's two parcels, according to Colin): Captivating aromas of pineapple, lemon, tangerine, linden flower, exotic herbs and minerals. A step up in texture from the foregoing samples, with a lemon cream flavor framed by penetrating but harmonious acidity. Very rich, deep wine with the balance to give early pleasure but the acid cut and stony minerality to age gracefully. Showing beautifully today but there's more to come.
