Maximin Grünhäuser Bruderberg Jungfernwein, Maximin Grünhaus - Weingut der Familie von Schubert 2009

Tasting Notes

From young vines, this is a sweet, slightly simple, but nicely balanced wine, displaying plenty of ripe apple and citrus flavors. The lingering, honeyed sweetness is balanced on the finish by just a trace of astringency. Drink now-2020.

Maiden vintage of young vines (Jungfer is German for ‘maiden’). Delicate, grapefruit pith, very pure. Quite sweet, though balanced, simpler than the Grünhäuser Herrenberg and not as long. Thus a bit expensive, though a one off as it’s the first vintage.
