Saintayme/Saintem 2013

Tasting Notes

The 2013 Saintayme has a light but precise bouquet with leafy red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, easy-going red berry fruit mixed with blackberry and a touch of sea salt on the pleasant finish. Enjoy this Saint Emilion now and over several years.

From Denis Durantou, this pure Merlot picked on 28 and 29 September has a delicate, floral bouquet with perfumed violet scents emerging. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded and soft tannins. There is plenty of straightforward dark plum and blackcurrant fruit, leading to an unassuming but well-balanced, easy-drinking finish. This is a wine that will be built for pleasure.
