The 2013 d'Angludet has a conservative bouquet with hints of blackberry and cranberry, a touch of sous-bois and cold steel. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin on the entry, but the middle feels hollow and almost skeletal towards the finish. I have tasted better wines from this Margaux estate in recent years.
I tasted two samples of the d'Angludet 2013. Both exhibited some volatile notes, although with aeration it pulls together with rather forced black cherry and cassis fruit. The palate is light on the entry with dry tannins, light earthy black fruit and a rather non-descript finish that lacks persistency. It's always fairly priced, but even so, there are countless New World Cabernets out there. Tasted April 2014.
