The 2012 Coddington is a little closed at this youthful stage with delicate white peach, spiced apple and almond notes plus a hint of cedar. It offers a great intensity of apple and stone fruit flavors in the mouth with ginger and while pepper coming through, framed by a pleasant textural grip and racy acid, finishing long. Drink 2014-2022.
Fresh on the nose the start of the palate is bright citrusy and herbal quite lean at the start richer in the middle with a greater depth of fruit towards the back. Lime and lemon on the finish give a racy brightness the fruit lingering on the long finish. 2016-22
Bright lemon in the glass. A lovely combination of toasted spices, cream, lemon and passion fruit curds. The palate is ripe and peachy with refreshing acidity cutting through the plumpness of ripe fruit. Good use of oak brings notes of toast and smoke, and there is a line of salinity that gives a savoury, moreish finish. 800 cases made.
Sweet, bruised orchard fruits, sour plum and a subtle citrus under note. Some savoury, earthy, root veg notes developing lending complexity and palate weight. Spicy, honied finish suggests this is ready to pull out the cellar and drink.
Nice taut, reductive mineral edge to the nose. Lively, spicy and focused with lovely mineral notes on the pure palate which shows great intensity and purity. So nicely defined with a taut, lemony edge. Thrilling.
Pale straw. Restrained and wet-stony on the nose. Cool and dense. Very lively and sleek. Refined. Drink 2015-2020.
In spite of the tropical-flower and vanilla aromas, and all the creaminess and concentration, this stays cool and clean. The long finish is so vibrant and expressive. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
