Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes, Domaine Hudelot-Noellat 2012

Tasting Notes

**Note: from 30+ year old vines**
Here the exuberant and wonderfully pure nose speaks of floral and both dark and red berry fruit aromas that display spicy top notes. There is good vibrancy and detail to the lilting and lacy middle weight flavors that exude a fine minerality on the balanced and saline-inflected finish. I very much like the seductive mouth feel as well as the fine complexity on the impressively persistent finish. Lovely juice.

The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Charmes has a slightly deeper color than the other premier crus. The nose is broody at first, opening reluctantly and revealing attractive scents of raspberry, wild strawberry, undergrowth and a touch of pine. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, rounded tannins that encase impressive, concentrated red berry fruit laced with Provencal herbs and minerals. This is a very complex Charmes with huge potential.
