Tasting Notes

This wine was added to the output of Château Léoville Las Cases alongside Clos de Marquis from the 2007 vintage. It is technically the ‘true’ second wine as Clos de Marquis comes from entirely separate vines. Not an inexpensive way into classified Bordeaux, but this vintage is one of the most beautiful second wines I’ve ever tasted. All the tannic aplomb of its big brother, but with a ripe, sweet juiciness that means it should be approachable within the next few years. Just over 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, compared to 80% in Léoville Las Cases.
