Nuits St Georges Les Cailles, Domaine Robert Chevillon 2012

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a 1.12 ha parcel of 75+ year old vines**
There is a mild trace of reduction though the underlying fruit is clearly ripe. While I did not have the time to allow the wine to sit in the glass long enough for the reduction to dissipate I did not get the sense that it was permanent and thus my rating offers the benefit of the doubt in this regard. The classy and very cool middle weight flavors possess phenolically mature and already well-integrated tannins as well as an ultra-refined mouth feel on the deep, balanced and gorgeously long finish. As pretty as this is, note well that the firm structure will require at least a decade to resolve and probably more like 12 to 15.
