Tasting Notes

Saturated deep red-ruby color. Highly aromatic nose combines maraschino cherry, redcurrant, roast coffee and sweet oak scents; at once roasted and sappy. Superripe, highly concentrated and thick; an uncanny combination of velvety texture and excellent vinosity. This essence of Pommard offers great mouthcoating volume and outstanding persistence on the palate. Dusty, fine tannins saturate the palate. Certainly one of the Cote de Beaune stars of the vintage.

Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar, April 2002

Almost opaque with very intense black fruit and extremely dense yet elegant medium weight flavors. Quite structured and firm, even backwards at this point but with terrific potential. The old vines character is very apparent and the length is outstanding. This is a huge wine with big tannins yet everything is in balance and this should age for a long time.
