Gevrey Petite Chapelle, Domaine Dugat-Py 2005

Tasting Notes

Note: from 50+ year old vines vinified with 50% stems

The barest hint of wood frames very ripe black berry, spice and cassis-inflected aromas that are, as always, beautifully elegant while merging seamlessly into very fresh and almost lilting flavors that culminate in a cherry-infused linear finish that explodes on the long, balanced and stylish finish. A gorgeous wine from start to finish but don't be deceived by the seeming accessibility of the mid-palate as the buried tannins will require ample time to resolve themselves. Drink 2017+
