Tasting Notes

A blend 41% Merlot, 59% Cabernet Sauvignon cropped at 42hl/ha the Blason d’Issan represents 47% of the crop. It has a ripe, crisp nose with blackberry, briary, wild hedgerow and a touch of graphite that is well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a grainy entry, low acidity, quite supple with a classic, leafy, Cabernet finish. Fine. Tasted April 2011.

A delicious red already with blueberries, currants, hints of hazelnut and chocolate. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a caressing finish. Very balanced and refined. Second wine of d'Issan. Drink or hold.
