Tasting Notes

This is even more aromatically restrained than the Bèze with a markedly floral and earth-scented nose of both red and dark berries that is cool, elegant and airy. The rich, intense and overtly muscular big-bodied flavors are a bit more mineral-driven as well and I very much like the mid-palate density that adds to the sense of scale, all wrapped in hugely long finish where the abundant dry extract does a fine job of pushing the very firm tannic spine to the background, at least for the moment. The Bèze is a knock-out but my instinct is that ultimately this will prove to be the slightly better wine in time.
