Fleur de Thénac Rouge, Château Thénac 2012

Tasting Notes

A deep, vibrant ruby colour. The nose to this wine is ripe with black cherry and a hint of blackcurrant, layered with cocoa and a hint of wood smoke. The palate has a juicy black fruit core, with hints of plum and red cherry, and is textured by silky smooth, refined tannins. This is bright and fresh, with real precision and length. On the finish there are hints of vanilla, and a little smoky spice. Once again this is a knockout wine from Chateau Thenac with real purity and balance.

65% Merlot. Dark crimson. Round and spoilt, classy stuff. Tastes as though no expense had been spared – and I’m sure it wasn’t. Long and refreshing on the finish.
