Gevrey Bel Air, Domaine Taupenot-Merme 2013

Tasting Notes

This is also cool and airy with its classic Gevrey nose of earth, underbrush and humus nuances that add breadth to the ripe mix of both red and dark berry aromas that are trimmed in hints of green tea. There is evident minerality on the detailed, intense and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess fine depth on the balanced and beautifully lingering finish. Lovely and this sleek effort should age well.

Sharply etched raspberry, strawberry and peony notes mark this elegant, tightly wound red. Mouthwatering, with firm tannins gripping the finish. Best from 2018 through 2030. 205 cases made.

When to drink: 2020 to 2032
From the vineyard just above Clos de Bèze. Seductive nose. Dried orange-peel nose. Lots there. Rich and only medium weight but great intensity and balance. A little dry on the end. Jancis Robinson
