Tasting Notes

As is often the case this is the best wine in the range with its slightly riper liqueur-like nose that features notes of kirsch, violet, plum, smoked game and a lovely floral nuance. The mouth feel of the big but not really imposing flavors is quite sophisticated thanks to the firm but fine tannic spine that shapes the mouth coating, saline and lingering finish. This is a wine of contrasts as the backend is at once slightly austere yet naturally sweet. Note that while this should more than amply reward 12 to 15 years of cellaring it will very likely drink well young too
