Tasting Notes

A highly spiced and notably more elegant nose offers up aromas of essence of black pinot fruit, dark raspberry, sandalwood, earth and a vaguely sauvage nuance. The brooding and equally serious broad-shouldered flavors are not quite as concentrated as those of the Chambertin but are even finer and display plenty of minerality on the wonderfully persistent finish. As it almost always is this is more refined than the Chambertin if less powerful and a bit less mineral driven. Note too that this will also require plenty of patience if perhaps not quite so much as the Chambertin.
