Volnay Les Mitans, Domaine de Montille 2012

This is notably more elegant with its attractive mélange of violet, plum and black cherry scents. The palate impression is also finer if a bit less concentrated and muscular with excellent detail and minerality to the middle weight flavors that display good energy and persistence on an ever-so-slightly warm and austere finish. There is a trace of dryness and while the balance isn't perfect this is still lovely. Again note that I have expressly shortened my initial drinking window accordingly.
