A distinctly smoky nose is composed of green fruit, white orchard fruit and acacia blossom and once again there is ample citrus influence present. The muscular middle weight plus flavors possess more size and weight as well as mid-palate concentration that coats the mouth on the impressively complex and persistent finish. As is usually the case this is the biggest wine in the range yet there is absolutely no sense of undue weight. Lovely.
This year he's added in some lower, younger vines. At first this seemed a little looser and sweeter than the top lieux-dits though certainly lots of fun. Almonds and great discipline. Lots of attack and depth underneath. A real build towards the finish, however, which is magnificent. (Drink between 2017-2027)
