Gevrey Premier Cru, Domaine Claude Dugat 2013

Tasting Notes

**Note: a 50/50 blend of Craipillot and La Perrière; the two parcels total .35 ha**
Here the nose is notably more elegant with its airy and cool aromas of cherry, spice, soft earth and a hint of underbrush. There is good richness to the very round medium-bodied flavors that retain a good sense of vibrancy on the detailed and austere finish. There is an edginess to the backend that is borderline tough. Dugat has a fine track record with this wine but it didn't show particularly well and I have concerns as to whether it will harmonize. Note: my suggested drinking window assumes that the tannins will round out in time but I would advise those who own this to check in on it from time to time to be sure that the fruit isn't drying out.
