Volnay Santenots, Domaine Nicolas Rossignol 2014

This was the only wine in the range to display any reduction though it was enough to mask the underlying fruit if not all the spice nuances. There is a velvety, even silky texture to the concentrated but sleek medium-bodied flavors that also possess an abundance of dry extract that coats the palate on the balanced, highly complex and wonderfully persistent finish that is notably saline in character. This is a Santenots of power and refinement that is quite firmly structured yet not at all austere or unduly compact and thus it should be approachable after 6 to 8 years if desired.
