Tasting Notes

This is very fine and classy with a purity of sangiovese that gives a blueberry and cherry character throughout. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a racy and pretty finish. Bordeaux blend and happening. Better in 2018.

The 2013 Capogatto is a gorgeous wine with a true and underlying sense of focus and sharpness. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot make up the blend. The fruit tones, with wild berry and dried blueberry, are delivered in a clean and linear fashion. Sweet oak and baking spice fill in the rear. This is a dark and thickly saturated wine with sweet tannins and deep layers of plum, cinnamon and chocolate that peel off in slow succession. Drink 2017-2028.
