Tasting Notes

Along with a few vintages of Vernay’s Coteaux du Vernon, the 2015 Condrieu La Doriane is one of the greatest Condrieu ever made. Deep, powerful and thrillingly concentrated, with a huge nose of apricot jam, marmalade, flower oils, and crushed rocks, it hits the palate with a huge texture that somehow stays light, graceful and weightless, and the wine has remarkable freshness, purity and cut. It’s not going to last forever, but it’s a singular, monumental Condrieu every reader should taste.

Not bottled but already blended. They usually bottle this straight after the regular Condrieu but it was too tight because of so much dry extract (it was 'âcre') and so they waited until September. To be released in November not July. They have treated it to NDTech fault-free corks. €1.20 apiece!
Strong floral notes on the nose – very different from the regular Condrieu. Racy and opulent – a very successful combination. Real bite and chew to this.

Nutty, sweet stone fruit, loads of concentration and perfume on the nose and palate, and showing better structural definition than their 2015 Condrieu. Very impressive, and extremely persistent. (RH)

Easily one of the greatest Condrieu I’ve ever tasted is the 2015 Condrieu La Doriane. A wine that needs to be tasted to be believed, it possesses a huge nose of toasted brioche, liquid rocks, apricot, flower oil and salty minerality. Unctuous, full-bodied, massively rich, yet also elegant and graceful, with beautiful freshness, enjoy this tour de force over the coming 5-6 years.
