Here too the elegant and notably spicy nose is composed by notes of super fresh dark pinot fruit, plum, violet and sandalwood nuances. The vibrant and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors exhibit lovely length and balance. This is very Vosne in style and recommended plus it should drink well on the younger side if desired. Note: from 5 different parcels located in La Columbière, Champs Goudins and Le Pré de la Folie, which are contiguous vineyards located below the village and above the Route Nationale
The 2014 Vosne Romanée Village is from vines tucked just behind the family maison. The 2014 Vosne Romanée Village has a crisp, quite detailed bouquet that is tight at first but opens nicely in the glass. Even for a village cru there is fine mineralité here. The palate is tensile on the entry with a pastille like purity -- tart red cherries, fresh if not exuding immense depth towards the finish. Just pure Pinot Noir -- no more, no less.
Sweet fruit, milk chocolate and a pleasant herby touch. Not heavyweight, but with lots of persistence and floral expression on the finish.
