Tasting Notes

Very complex aromas of crushed raspberries, blackberries, leaves and dried flowers. Full body, a dense center palate and powerful tannins that nonetheless remain ripe and polished. Great length. Superb bottle. Give it some time to show its true brilliance. Take a look in 2022.

Tasted blind. Rich, ripe nose. Full and dramatic without being overdone. Very neat. Very 2014 (no excess of ripeness or density). Dry finish.
Drink 2021-2032

The 2014 Trottevieille has a fragrant bouquet, quite understated at first and building with brambly red berry fruit, undergrowth and faint cedar-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine acidity and a gentle, caressing finish that is silky smooth. This is a very refined Trottevieille, one that is far less rustic than in the past, the persistence on the finish suggesting that it should age in consummate style. This is a classy offering from the Castèja family. Drink 202-204
