Deep purple color with explosive black, spicy fruit and massive, large scale, rich flavors that are quite detailed and linear in nature. There is a dusty aspect to the big tannins and though they are ripe, this drinks more like a '98 than a '99. A lovely wine that will need 8 to 10 years to show itself to best effect.
