Gevrey Fontenys, Domaine Dugat-Py 2015

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .08 ha parcel; 90% stems**
An overtly floral nose combines notes of lavender, violet and rose petal with those of black cherry and subtle forest floor nuances. There is fine richness to the relatively full-bodied flavors that are notably more mineral-driven than those of the Corbeaux, all wrapped in a sleek, seductive and palate coating finale.

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Fonteny, which comes from a parcel ideally located in the corner of Mazis- and Ruchottes-Chambertin, contains between 80% and 90% whole bunch. It comes across more broody than the La Perrière at the moment, but it opens nicely in the glass revealing blackberry, redcurrant, cold stone and light orange blossom aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, crisp acidity, the new oak here nicely integrated with a vibrant finish. This is one of the best premier crus from Dugat-Py.
