Clos de Vougeot, Marchand-Tawse 2015
Here the more reserved nose is comprised by notes of freshly turned earth, purple fruit and hint of smoked game. The sleek, intense and well-muscled big-bodied flavors are dense, robust and powerful while displaying the classic Clos de Vougeot youthful austerity on the very rich and sappy finale. This doesn't have quite the same energy as the Ech but there is more underlying material.
