Tasting Notes

The 2015 Côte de Nuits Village has a lifted bouquet with dark cherry and bergamot aromas, nicely defined although not as power as others that I have encountered. The palate is grippy on the entry, quite structured for a Côte de Nuits Village, but demonstrating fine precision on the saline finish.

Neal Martin, Wine Advocate (228), December 2016

A fresh, ripe and earthy red berry fruit-suffused nose leads to supple, round and delicious middle weight flavors that possess a velvety texture before concluding in a perceptibly warm finale. Note that this notably ripe and ever-so-mildly plodding effort should drink well shortly after release if that you're preference.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (66), April 2017

This is the first return of the Cote de Nuits Villages from Domaine Mallard since the hugely succesful 2010 - Michel and the team have not deemed any of the interim vintages good enough to produce this bottling. Bright ruby in the glass, this exudes a classic perfume of ripe red cherries and plums, with just a hint of clove and cinnamon. The palate is soft with fully integrated and ripe tannins gently framing a plump red fruit core. Pure, plummy fruits are lifted into floral strawberry and cherry blossom notes, lingering with subtle spicy notes on the finish.
