A brooding and very somber nose of both red and dark currants is liberally laced with both earth and game hints. There is more volume and excellent mid-palate concentration to the broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the very round, delicious and moderately firm finish. I was quite surprised at how forward this was and while there is excellent persistence it is decidedly less structured and austere than usual.
