Mazoyeres Chambertin, Jean-Marie Fourrier 2016

Tasting Notes

The 2016 Mazoyrès from Jean-Marie is flat out stunning and a step up from the beautifully elegant and sappy Charmes this year. The bouquet shows great purity in its constellation of black cherries, sweet dark berries, hung game, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, gamebird and cedary wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure, with outstanding, sappy mid-palate depth, a very complex, soil-driven backend, fine-grained tannins and a long, refined and supremely elegant finish. Glorious Mazoyrès. 2025-2070.
