Monforte d’Alba. Healthy and just mid ruby with orange tinges. Still a little unsettled on the nose because of the very recent bottling. At first not a huge difference with the 2014 Castellero on the nose. Aeration shows more precision and depth. Cherry and violets, but far more noble, coating tannins than the Castello. The fruit keeps up, but really slow to open up. Transparent. Quite dazzling, if firmly structured.
