Corton Rognet, Domaine Bruno Clavelier 2009

A surprisingly high-toned nose is exceptionally fresh with its earthy and beautifully layered notes of notably ripe cranberry and raspberry that precede the textured broad-scaled and big-boned flavors that are underpinned by very firm tannins and a palate staining and explosive finish that seems to go on and on. This is a big wine and while robust and muscular, it's not necessarily a bruiser. It is for the patient however.
