Chambolle Musigny Les Gruenchers, Thibault Liger Belair 2009

A brooding nose features notes of wet stone, plum and dark berry fruit gives way to medium weight flavors that are quite supple on the mid-palate yet firm up somewhat on the attractively detailed, balanced and harmonious finish. I like the underlying tension as it imparts a sense of verve. This is not especially elegant but it should be capable of aging for years and improving for at least a decade.
