Tasting Notes

Aromas of ripe citrus fruit, praline and honeysuckle precede the 2017 Saint-Véran Vigne de Saint-Claude, a full-bodied, satiny wine that's deep, multidimensional and incisive, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish. This is another of the highlights of the 2017 Verget portfolio and is well worth seeking out. Drink 2018-2026.

Peaches and apricots both nose and palate has depth the palate fleshy richness. There is balance from the underlying citrus and cut apple bright at the back with a long racy mineral finish. 2019-24

This plot is situated in the village of Prissé but is close to the Pouilly Fuissés of Vergisson. The vines are around 50 years old. Fermentated and mature in oak barrels - 20% of which were new. Lemon curd, baked vanilla and hints of pear on the nose here. The palate is pithy and texutral, gaining creamy complexity and breadth through the palate that props up the citrus fruits. A creamy, classic white Burgundy that will provide great early-drinking pleasure.
