Tasting Notes

Deep garnet in colour, this is now at a perfect point of maturity. Offering layers of tobacco, cedar, game and cool blackcurrants, it is quitessentially Medoc in character on the nose. The palate shows the deep black fruit and soy tones of the vintage, but the tannins have softened to make this an approachable 2010, perfect to drink while the Grand Vins continue to mature in the cellar. Nutmeg, clove, black cherry and cedar. This offers real typicity with the added oomph of 2010, a perfect wine to drink over the next five years.

Thomas Parker MW, Farr Vintners, August 2022

This has matured nicely, showing an ample core of plum and red currant fruit flavors that have melded with a mix of singed applewood, tea and iron notes through the finish. Has the weight of the vintage, but is ready to drink. Drink now through 2021.
