A ripe, fresh and nicely layered nose exhibits notes of both red and dark pinot fruit that are liberally laced with earth, spice and a hint of violet. There is more volume present on the richer and relatively full-bodied flavors that terminate in a moderately firm, rustic and mildly austere finish. This would materially benefit from 5 years or so of keeping.
