Chassagne Montrachet Caillerets, Domaine Fontaine Gagnard 2016

A notably ripe and moderately exotic nose combines notes of pineapple, tangerine, lychee nut and floral, citrus and matchsticks hints. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the intense and much stonier middle weight flavors that also possess even better detail on the notably firm if not really austere finale that delivers superb length. This is excellent and while I am in general not really a fan of exoticism, this manages to work particularly well.
