Chassagne Vergers, Domaine Fontaine Gagnard 2017
There is a curious hint of apple cider to the lemon zest, essence of white orchard fruit and matchstick nuances. The medium-bodied flavors possess even better intensity thanks to the citrus-tinged acidity shaping the bone dry and somewhat lean finish. This moderately persistent effort definitely needs at least a few years of bottle age to better flesh out.

Pale, bright yellow. Highly nuanced nose combines mirabelle, citrus fruits, wild herbs and menthol. Quite inviting and nicely balanced, but also conveys an impression of strong dry extract to its sweet fruit and herb flavors. Finishes tactile and long, with a captivating blend of fruits and flowers. An impeccable and sexy Chassagne premier cru in the making. "Like Maltroie, Les Vergers seduces when it's young," notes Céline Fontaine.
