Reduction flattens the fruit and renders the nose impossible to fairly evaluate. By contrast there is good freshness to the notably bigger, richer and more muscular broad-shouldered flavors that display enough rusticity to comment on, all wrapped in mildly dry finish that in this case will probably age out as the tannins seem ripe.
The 2013 Corton Greves Grand Cru has a austere saturnine bouquet that like the Beaune Greves, is not playing game today. The palate is medium-bodied with immediate purity and sensuality, very fine tannins, extremely well balanced with a suave and silky finish. This has great potential but it will need 3 to 4 years in bottle.
