Tasting Notes

The Fratelli Alessandria 2014 Barolo is a streamlined and elegant wine that imparts delicate tones of wild berry, spice, licorice, rosemary twig and candied orange peel. This is a classic expression and an absolute embodiment of Barolo tradition. The finish is long and silky with lingering tones of smoke and crushed mineral. This wine is very nicely done. It ages slowly in large Slavonian oak casks for three years. Some 20,000 bottles were produced.

Lorenzo di Verduno is a component of the blend. Total skin maceration of 20 days and aged for 24 months in large oak casks of 25 and 30 hl. Cask sample. Softly spicy and with a savoury mineral note. Fresh and minerally with fine cherry fruit and lively acidity. Pinot Noir style. Clinging tasty tannins and perfumed fruit finish. Well done. Drink between 2018-2026
