Chablis Terroir de la Chapelle, Patrick Piuze 2017

Tasting Notes

A slightly riper nose is comprised by aromas of various white orchard fruit that are laced with hints of rose petal, quinine and a hint of sea shore character. The exceptionally rich, even opulent flavors are both seductive and generously proportioned yet tighten up nicely on the clean, dry and markedly saline-suffused finish. Good stuff that should drink well young as well as with a few years of cellar time.

Fragrant aromas of citrus blossom, green apple and crushed chalk introduce the 2017 Chablis Terroir de la Chapelle, a bright, medium-bodied wine that's more textural and concentrated than the Plateau de la Cornasse bottling, balanced by tangy acids. Piuze notes that the vines (which date back to 1974) are planted east-to-west, so the grapes never see direct sunlight, preserving freshness.
