Bonnes Mares, Domaine Rion 2015
Here the wood treatment is less subtle though it's not enough to really fight with the notably ripe yet quite fresh nose that displays notes of various red berries, spice, violet and a trace of earth. There is impressive volume and mid-palate density to the full-bodied and overtly powerful flavors that coat the palate with sap that helps to buffer the moderately firm tannins on the hugely long finish. This is also most impressive and despite its size, weight and power, it should be approachable earlier than is typical for this appellation.
