Pieropan's flagship single vineyard wine is always fermented in 500 litre oak barrels and has a rich opulence and amazing concentration. It has been awarded the Italian White Wine Trophy at the International Wine Challenge numerous times and unsurprisingly so. The 2017 is peachy, creamy and exotic on the nose. The wine is plush with a highly moreish melony fruit; rich, dense and opulent on the palate too without losing its zippy refreshing acidity and zesty clean finish. Fantastic length with lingering tropical fruits. A really wonderful summer wine.
Aromas tropical fruit, chamomile, toasted nut and acacia lift out of the glass. The full, rounded palate doles out ripe apricot, yellow peach, juicy pineapple and grilled herb, while a bitter almond note graces the lingering finish. Drink through 2023.
