Puech Haut Le Clos du Pic, Château Puech-Haut 2016

Tasting Notes

I was blown away by the 2016 Le Clos Du Pic, which is a 60/40 split of Syrah and Mourvèdre that spent 18 months in barrel. Its deep purple color is followed by an opulent, sexy, full-bodied Pic Saint Loup that knocks it out of the park with its ample dark fruits, kirsch liqueur, ground herbs, cracked black pepper, and graphite. A big, rich, powerful wine, it stays graceful and balanced, and just glides over the palate. Hats offer to the team at Puech Haut for another incredible wine. 2019-2027
