Tasting Notes

The finest Marbuzet I have ever tasted, the opaque ruby/purple-tinged 2003 is unquestionably a sleeper of the vintage. Deep, chewy, black cherry, and cassis flavors are interwoven with notes of spice box, smoke, and herbs. This supple, velvety-textured effort is ideal for drinking over the next 7-8 years.

Depending on price of course, this could turn out to be one of the great bargains of the year - with Cos's signiture vivacity and fully ripe tannins and density. Peppery nose. Rich, ripe and round - extremely supple - just a very slight lack of middle and density distinguishes it from Cos. Bravo!

A pleasant blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot reveals a touch of herbaceousness in the nose, but offers wonderfully succulent, rich berry fruit intermixed with hints of barnyard, earth, and spice box. This broad, flavorful 2003 will drink well for 7-8 years.
