Tasting Notes

Once again there is plenty of wood and menthol influence on the slightly fresher if otherwise similar aromas. The seductive and more refined middle weight flavors possess very fine volume while coating the palate with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the moderately firm tannins shaping the mineral-inflected finale. This is lovely and should age gracefully.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (78), April 2020

One of the most serious and potentially long-lived of Jadot's cuvées from the Beaune hillside this year is the 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Aux Cras (Domaine Gagey), a lovely wine that opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis, spices and orange rind, with only hints of the savory complexity to come. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and racy, with fine-grained tannins, lively acids and a long, nicely defined finish.

William Kelley, Wine Advocate (Jan 20 Wee), January 2020

Sweet red berries on the nose, with a hint of wild flower and herb. Soft tannins and succulent fruit on the palate. This is forward, sweet and juicy through to the long finish. It will be approachable at a relatively early stage.
