Tasting Notes

A cooler and prettier nose is also quite restrained with its elegant array of red cherry and abundance of floral nuances and particularly lavender. There is excellent intensity to the beautifully well-delineated and stony medium weight flavors that display a taut muscularity on the lingering finale that offers better fruit/tannin balance.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (78), April 2020

The 2018 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is always one of Jadot's finest reds and arguably represents the house's most overlooked wine. Opening in the glass with notes of sweet berry fruit, plums, licorice, rich soil tones and orange rind, the wine is full-bodied, deep and layered, with excellent concentration, lively acids and a powerful, muscular profile, concluding with a long and sapid finish.

William Kelley, Wine Advocate (Jan 20 Wee), January 2020

A little lighter in colour and more refined on the nose, this is beautifully balanced up front, then becomes richer, almost prunier to the back. Could it have been picked a day or two earlier? Pretty good though and all about fruit not the tannins. Tasted: November 2019

89/92
Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, January 2020

Exotic and spicy, with notes of incense and sweet red strawberry on the nose. Dense and chalky tannins, with a light peppery character on the palate. This is fleshy and hedonistic with a heady sweetness of fruit to temper the rich tannins. Wait 3-4 years before approaching.
