Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London. The Cissac 2011 has a sweet ripe bouquet with dark cherries, raspberry and a faint scent of bergamot in the distance. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that are quite fine, although the oak is just a little too dominant at the moment. There should be sufficient fruit to absorb that in time, so I would afford this Cissac three to five years in bottle. Tasted September 2013.
A solidly made wine from proprietor Vialard, this dense ruby/plum-colored 2011 reveals austere tannins, but good depth, ripeness and fruit, and a solid, masculine-styled character. Drink it over the next decade.
