This is perhaps the most floral-suffused nose in the entire range with its array of violet, lavender, rose petal and peony adding considerable elegance to the cool aromas of spicy red berries and jasmine tea. The wonderfully refined and highly energetic middle weight flavors brim with minerality while flashing solid power on the gorgeously long, balanced and classy finish. This is seriously lovely and if you can find it, very much worth considering.
There are two barrels of the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses (Domaine Louis Jadot), a perfumed, incipiently complex wine that bursts with aromas of orange rind, rose petals, cherries, plums and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with lively acids and rich structuring tannins, it's a beautiful wine in the making.
A few whole bunches were used to fill the tank. Lively fresh mid purple with a beautifully engaging nose, plump very ripe fruit, which absolutely kicks on, bilberry and blueberry rather than mulberry. Lovely balance throughout. Amoureuses doing its stuff like an overly friendly, but nonetheless adorable puppy. Tasted: October 2020
