Pale ruby-garnet in colour. Earthy and savoury on the nose - full of leather, game, tobacco and clove. There are higher tones of dried rose, orange peel and bright red fuit in the background too. The palate has the structural integrity expected with firm tannins against a backdrop of complex dried fruit and layer upon layer of spice. There is a real intensity to the flavours on show, unfurling in the glass to reveal a full array of savoury depth. The jewels of red fruit and flowers remain however, bringing real vibrancy and intensity through to a long finish.
Blue-flower, rose, botanical herb and red-berry aromas waft out of the glass along with a whiff of new leather. Showing its La Morra origins, it's elegantly structured and linear, offering juicy morello cherry, crushed raspberry and dark spice flavors. Taut refined tannins and fresh acidity provide lithe support. Drink 2024–2031.

A fairly sandy soil helps retain warmth and Dosio’s vineyards face south to southwest. The team also trims the wings and bottom of the bunches to help concentrate the grapes. There is a fair amount of ripeness in this 2016, and initially diffused aromas gain focus with some air. Scents of plum are intertwined with vanilla, cedar and smoky tobacco. Mid-weight though assertively structured, it finishes with juicy red forest fruit. 2023-2033
